Kimberly McEvoy received an Award of Merit from the ASID 2009 Design Excellence Awards Hawaii Chapter for Aina Gourmet Market Retail space, also known as the 100 Mile Market.

At the recently completed Honua Kai Resort at Kaanapali’s North Beach, a vanilla shell awaited inspiration and creativity. A relatively small space, designated for Aina Gourmet Market, McEvoy was challenged to integrate a gourmet market, coffee bar, wine specialty shop, local produce retail, gift store and resort sundries. The owners’ wanted a high-end look with an organic feel. Essential in the design was sustainability as exemplified by the proprietors’ flagship restaurants, Pacific’O and I’o, complemented with their organic upcountry O’o Farm.
